Local dues support Horizon's day to day activities, and are crucial to our goal of providing a permanent temple space.
How much are local dues?
Horizon dues are figured on a sliding scale, at 1% of each member's income. We’ve made a chart to help with figuring that out, complete with PayPal links, in the right hand column of this page.
OTO members of the Minerval degree, OTO members of any degree living in other areas, and non-initiate EGC members are encouraged to pay dues at the 1% level, but may choose to pay basic dues of $10.00 a month.
Members and affiliates who are unable to pay their local dues may make arrangements with the Master of the Oasis to waive or reduce their dues according to their circumstances.
How are dues paid?
The easiest way to pay dues each month is to set up a subscription. No more remembering to send in your payment, no more wondering if you're still local dues current. Just set it and forget it! Set up automatic payments using the links listed on the right of this page. You will be taken to the PayPal site, where you can use your PayPal account, or a debit or credit card. This information is only visible to you and your bank. No one at Horizon has access to your financial information at any time.
Right now we can only process automatic payments for pre-set amounts, but we’re happy to customize them. If you want to set up a dues payment for a different amount than those shown, contact our webmaster and we’ll customize a subscription for you.
If you’d rather not use a subscription, you can still use online payments. Click here, or use the link below to go Horizon's PayPal page, where you can enter your dues amount for the month or for the year. As with subscriptions, you can use your PayPal account or a debit or credit card. This information is only visible to you and your bank. No one at Horizon has access to your financial information at any time.

If you prefer, send a check or money order made out to Horizon Oasis to:
Treasurer And of course, you can always give your dues payment directly to the treasurer at any Horizon event. If the treasurer isn’t available, give it to any Horizon officers, and they will make sure the treasurer gets it. |
Are local dues tax-deductible?
Horizon is a registered non-profit; dues and donations are tax-deductible in most cases. To request a receipt for your dues or donations, contact the Oasis treasurer at: treasurer@seattle-oto.org.
What about my Grand Lodge Dues?
Local bodies collect Grand Lodge (National) dues as part of the initiation fees, but only for that year. If there is more than a year between your initiations you will need to pay your national dues directly to Grand Lodge. For information on paying Grand Lodge dues or checking your dues status, see How To/Pay Dues, or email the Grand Treasurer General at gtg@oto-usa.org.
