Officer Changes and Transitions
Andrei is transitioning the role of Initiation Secretary to Courtney, official as of 4/14, the next EoC Mass.
EGC and Mass Schedule (Melissa)
Baptisms and Confirmations will be held in April. If you are interested in being Baptized or Confirmed, please talk to Melissa before 4/18.
What do people think of the new 6:00 mass schedule? General consensus: Works well!
Membership Report (Ken)
Number of dues paying members: 10
Thank you!
Campout
Tom Armstrong is organizing a campout the last weekend of July, the 27th and 28. At Marten Creek Group Camp on the South Fork of the Stilliguamish River, on the Mountain Loop Highway East of Granite Falls. $10.00 per person, bring your own food and drinks.
Classes
The Thelemic discussions went well. I’d like to continue doing those, either occasionally as a class or every month as a separate event. What do people think?
Classes for April were canceled due to EoC scheduling mix-up, which messed with my schedule of classes – I’m currently in the process of figuring out who’s teaching what when. Please submit any ideas you have for classes that you would like to learn about or teach.
Melissa is working on a Thelemic Book Club.
Maybe have Thelemic “freeform” discussions before Mass at Queen Anne?
Bylaws and Similar Documents
The bylaws are in Draft form, and have been sent out to the membership (but not to the whole sea-oto list. Please give us your feedback, verbally or in writing, before the next community meeting.
Be sure to attend July’s Horizon Community Meeting, as the vote on the Bylaws and Standing Rules will be taking place at that meeting.
We’re going to start putting out copies of the Oasis Bylaws, the Grand Lodge Bylaws, the Body Master’s Handbook, and the EGC Manual at each QAMT mass. These aren’t secret documents but they aren’t for general distribution either. We’re putting them out for people to look at, but not to take. The Bylaws will be available online once they are finalized and ok’d by the EC.
The Standing Rules are our own, and we can change them anytime we vote to do so.
Temple Committee
We’ve formed a temple committee. Currently the temple committee consists of Jon S and Doug E. As Deputy Master Jon will have the authority to sign paperwork and make decisions on behalf of the Oasis, and will chair the committee.
This is a permanent committee, not just a search committee. Right now, the temple committee will be concerned with getting our dues and pledges up to speed, and then with finding and renting a space. Once the space is rented, the temple committee will be charged with fixing up the space, making or obtaining equipment, maintaining it, and probably renting the temple out on occasion.
Obviously they’re going to need our help. Talk to Jon and Doug if you’re interested.
Paying For A Temple Space (Jon)
People need to start paying these dues now, or we won’t be able to get a 24/7 space. People who pay their dues are not expected to make a site donation for Mass or classes. Dues are tax-deductible, as long as we don’t provide discounts or some other form of quid pro quo. Paypal is the easiest way to pay dues – there are links for one-time payments or monthly automatic payments. See http://www.seattle-oto.org/dues.htm for more information.
This chart represents the number of dues paying members (column on the left) and donation amounts.

Note that 5 dues paying members at $50.00 a month plus 10 at $25.00 a month would bring us nearly to our goal.
